Questions and answers

Are you taking on new NHS patients in south Sheffield?

Yes — we're currently registering new NHS and private patients from Abbeydale Road and the surrounding areas. NHS places can come and go, so it's worth getting in touch sooner rather than later. Call 0114 255 4433 or use our contact form to register.

Whereabouts on Abbeydale Road are you, and how do I get there?

We're at 4–6 Abbeydale Road, Sheffield S7 1FD, in the Antiques Quarter towards the Highfield end of the road. Frequent buses run along Abbeydale Road (the A621) from the city centre and south Sheffield, and you can plan your journey at travelsouthyorkshire.com.

Is there parking nearby?

You'll find on-street parking on the residential streets just off Abbeydale Road, though it's worth checking local restrictions before you park. The practice is also well served by buses along Abbeydale Road if you'd rather leave the car at home.

How much does NHS dental treatment cost?

NHS charges in England (2026) fall into three bands — Band 1 (£27.90) covers an examination, diagnosis and advice, including any X-rays and a scale and polish if needed; Band 2 (£76.60) covers fillings, extractions and root canal work; and Band 3 (£332.10) covers crowns, dentures and bridges. Some patients are exempt from charges.

What happens at my first appointment?

Your dentist will take a full history, examine your teeth, gums and soft tissues, and take any X-rays needed. You'll get a clear explanation of anything they find and an agreed plan — including costs — before any treatment starts.

I really don't like the dentist. Can you help?

You're far from alone, and we see a lot of nervous patients. Let us know when you book and we'll allow extra time, talk you through each step, and never rush you. Getting back into regular check-ups usually makes future visits much easier.

Which areas do you look after?

We're a local practice for Highfield, Sharrow, Nether Edge, Heeley, Meersbrook and Woodseats, and we welcome patients from right across south and central Sheffield.

Do you offer private treatments like teeth whitening or Invisalign?

Yes. Alongside NHS care we offer private options including professional teeth whitening, Invisalign clear aligners and dental implants. Book a consultation on 0114 255 4433 and we'll talk through what would suit you.
